ECI bought CliniSys for £61m in May 2007 plus an earn-out of up to £2m from its founding shareholders, some of whom reinvested into the business as part of the deal.
The firm backed existing CEO Fiona Pearson, who continues to lead the business, at the time of the buyout.
Liberty were appointed to provide management advice to Fiona Pearson and her team on the transaction.
Based in Chertsey the company provides software solutions to clinical laboratories across Europe from offices in the UK, Germany, France, Belgium and Spain.
Montagu said it planned to support CliniSys’ international growth by using experience gained from previous healthcare and IT investments including Sebia, Euromedic International and Open International.
